Audi Q3 and BMW 3 series for the restless and rebellious
Owning a great German car is everyone's dream. The look, class and style that these cars have are irresistible but then they are so expensive that they remain mostly in dreams only.
Today, a huge chunk of Indian population comprises of youths, they are impatient and rebellious. They believe in catching up with the imagination instead of killing them, they dare to dream big and take risks to achieve big.
These Indian youths have suddenly become eye-candy for German car makers like Audi and BMW.
They are working hard to tap the high earning 25-35 age group, who have both the money and the mind to move up in class.
Its Audi, who actually started this game by launching Q3, priced between Rs 25-30 lac, its a SUV with ultra-premium look and features. All of their promotions and communications are hugely inclined to attract the restless 25 something, they have come up with a range of EMI options.
BMW quickly responded by launching Sedan 3 series, they got greatest Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on board to ensure that young customers doesn't get out of their radar. They have priced it at the same range and thus, have declared that the war is now head on.
Talking about the competition between Audi and BMW, in less than five years Audi came and conquered the fantasy of rich Indians, their sales reports started giving goosebumps to BMW who was ruling the segment. Suddenly, everything started going well with Audi from Q7 in SUV to A6 in Sedan class, both them gave blockbuster performance.
Well for us, the audiences and the prospective customers, we like being bombed with choices and at the end of the day when competition gets fierce, both the product and price gets better.
